About Us

Amos Consulting has delivered high quality freelance tender writing services for health, disability, education, and advocacy organisations across New South Wales and Queensland since 2008. Our Principal, Philip Amos, brings to the role the skills and experience of successful tender writing gained from working on the staff of a Federal Member of Parliament, as a policy officer in the Commonwealth Public Service, and two years writing, researching, and preparing tender applications.

This experience means:

  • We understand what Government wants: our staff are experienced in political offices, Commonwealth and State bureaucracy, and non-government organisations. We have a keen insight into the selection methods, policy goals, and operation of Government tender panels.  We use this insight to ensure that our clients’ tender applications are written in the best way to appeal to Government decision makers.
  • Clients benefit from our skills as writers for Government, gained from writing assessments and debriefs of grant applications, speeches for parliamentarians, and cabinet and ministerial submissions.  We use these writing skills to present your tender application using language and structure that is familiar and persuasive to Government tender panels.
  • We are specialist tender writers for health and disability social service organisations. Over the past two years we have prepared a broad range of tender applications for disability, supported accommodation, mental health, and advocacy organisations.

The value of our expertise and experience is demonstrated by our track record of successful tender writing.  Since 2008, we have prepared tender applications that have won over $40 million in Commonwealth and State Government contracts, including:

  • Emergency Accommodation for Homeless Youth: a successful tender application for my client to operate four youth refuges for young people in the ACT.  Part of the ACT Government’s reorganisation of youth and homeless services, the successful application doubled the size and staff of their youth homeless accommodation services.
  • Disability Supported Accommodation: a successful tender to establish and operate a five person group home for people with an intellectual disability.  Part of the expansion in disability accommodation under the NSW Department of Family and Community Services’ Stronger Together program.
  • Headspace Expansion 2011: successful expressions of interest and business plans for our clients to take the lead agency role to deliver new headspace youth mental health services in Cairns and Brisbane.
  • Family and Carers Support Services: a contract from NSW Health for our client to deliver education, training, and individual support to families and carers of people with mental illness in south east Sydney and Illawarra.
  • NSW Health Housing and Accommodation Support Initiative: a contract for our client to deliver expanded accommodation support services across Sydney.
  • Time Out House Initiative: a Queensland Department of Communities contract to operate an early intervention accommodation service for youth mental illness, won by a consortium of clients.
  • Personal Helpers and Mentors: successful tenders for 14 sites across Australia for this Commonwealth Department of Families, Housing, Community Services, and Indigenous Affairs program for community mental health support services.
  • Primary Care Infrastructure Grants: working with a Sydney medical practice, we prepared a successful grant application that funded significant infrastructure redevelopment and enabled my client to expand their primary care, preventative health, and chronic disease management programs.
  • Individualised Community Living Program: an innovative new community mental health program funded by the Western Australian Mental Health Commission.  A successful application enabled my client to expand their organisation into Western Australia for the first time and participate in a new individualised model for supporting people with severe mental illness.
  • Disability Advocacy Funding: a Queensland Department of Communities contract, won by our client to deliver specialist disability advocacy support in the western suburbs of Brisbane.
  • Department of Ageing, Disability, and Home Care: pre-qualification for our client to join the panel of approved service providers for the Stronger Together Accommodation Support Services for People with a Disability.
